Slates are stones that have little to no sharpness and are quite smooth. With the stone sheet removing technique that we use, it is possible that the stone sheet keeps some layers on top. That’s what makes natural stone charming. Those layers will be more or less present depending on which stone block is used.
Being made of rocks, Slate is quite matte compared to other stones like Mica that has quartz in it. Depending on whether you’re using natural or artificial lighting, you can give a different tone to Moscou. The beauty of this stone is enhanced when it’s used in Translucent.

Our stone sheets are shipped rolled up inside a box. You will need to allow time to give them their original shape.
With a blowtorch, you can heat up the resin on the back of the sheet to make it more flexible. It is necessary for the sheets to be flattened out before use to ensure a successful installation.
To glue the sheets, you can use the Soudal’s MS Polymer glue available on our shop. This glue is well suited for bathrooms, including shower boxes, in the kitchen for your back-splash, outside or even in your living room.
It is easy to cut through it using a circular saw with a carbide blade.
For your furniture and wooden surfaces, you can use a neoprene glue and glue both the back of the stone sheet and the surface you would like to apply it onto.
Once the sheets are glued to your surface, don’t forget to thoroughly protect your sheets with our waterproof and oil-proof Akemi Anti-stain Nano solution. The liquid will then bead on the stone and won’t stain it.
Our installation protocols are accessible on video, and you can download a PDF version at the top of the page.
